What's Up Wellness staff are certified Mental Health First Aid trainers for Nevada County. We are available to provide trainings at your community site in both Youth and Adult versions of Mental Health First Aid. We are also certified to facilitate Teen Mental Health First Aid classes (TMHFA) for 10th-12th graders in Nevada County high schools.

  • Mental Health First Aid is a 1-day training for adults that teaches how to help young people OR other adults in mental health challenges or crises.

  • Mental Health First Aid training for teenagers to help their teen peers, friends, or family get the support they need when faced with mental health challenges or crises.

  • Teen Mental Health First Aid

    March and April 2024

    It is empowering for young people to know what to do when they see their friends struggling with a mental health challenge. Teen Mental Health First Aid helps young people learn how to identify mental health challenges and crises with their friends, how to approach and listen to them, and how/where to connect them to support. Offered at Bitney Prep and Ghidotti High School 10th graders.

  • Adult Mental Health First Aid

    May 1 and May 2, 2024

    A two day online training that takes place from 10am-2pm on May 1st and May 2nd. In this live training, learn how to provide initial help to adults struggling with mental health challenges and crises. These interactive sessions will cover topics like recognizing warning signs, approaching and listening, offering reassurance, and guiding individuals to professional help.

  • Adult Mental Health First Aid

    June 2024

    A two day online training that takes place in June 2024. In this live training, learn how to provide initial help to adults struggling with mental health challenges and crises. These interactive sessions will cover topics like recognizing warning signs, approaching and listening, offering reassurance, and guiding individuals to professional help.

Adults Supporting Young People

As adults, we are here to protect and support the young people in our lives. We offer trainings to adults in Youth Mental Health First Aid to know how to give assistance to teens struggling with mental health challenges or crises.

Being a safe, trusted support person for the teenagers in our lives is crucial.

Adults Supporting Adults

Mental Health First Aid is needed not only for young people struggling, but also for the adults in our lives that struggle with their mental health. It is empowering to know what to do when faced with another adult who is in the midst of a mental health challenge or crisis. Come learn how.

Teens Supporting Teens

Teenagers and young-people often turn to each other for emotional support, guidance, and direction. We offer Teen Mental Health First Aid classes to youth, empowering them to support each other with practices and resources to get the help they need.
